Once the simulcast portion of the event is complete, our onsite program is just beginning. We will enjoy lunch from one of our event sponsors, Jersey Mike’s Subs, before settling back into an afternoon of learning and growth. You will get to sit back and learn from a panel of local business leaders who are helping to ensure that community businesses continue to thrive in spite of the Covid-19 environment we find ourselves. Emmy Award-Winning Entertainer, New York Times Bestselling Author, Businessman, and Philanthropist. From a young age, Steve Harvey knew that he wanted to be on TV. Your local host, Jay Johnson, CEO of J2 Servant Leadership, and a retired United States Air Force veteran, always seeks to add additional value to his event attendees. He and the other coaches and trainers hosting Live2Lead New Braunfels are bringing in several influencers and business professionals to share leadership insights, success tips, and strategies.
Speaker, Trainer, and Coach
Jay Johnson is a retired USAF officer who owns and operates J2 Servant Leadership, LLC. Jay is an International Trainer, Motivational Speaker, and Success Coach. He is also an Executive Director with The John Maxwell Team where he serves as 1 of 6 Peer Teaching Partners and Chairs the Live2Lead Committee for the President’s Advisory Council, helping to ensure 300 plus host sites worldwide are equipped for success. Jay works with for-profits and non-profits, small businesses, and Fortune 100 companies. He has conducted training and delivered speeches all over the world to include the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain, Kuwait, Mexico, and Paraguay.
Wes Studdard is the Vice President for Bluebonnet Motors Inc., and also serves as the Chair of the Board for the New Braunfels Chamber. He has been married to his wife Tina for over 30 years and has three children: Jordan, Taylor, and Lauren.
Studdard feels blessed to live, work, and raise a family in New Braunfels. He grew up in El Paso, went to college at the University of Texas in Austin, and had his first career job in Houston. Moving to New Braunfels was exciting for him and Tina, and it turned out to be the best decision for their family. They love their neighborhood, friends, and this city. The faith-based, conservative community with a focus on the family has been a perfect fit for them. The Studdards look forward to growing old and sharing experiences with great friends in New Braunfels.
Studdard has an impressive legacy of being active in his community. He has been a part of multiple boards and organizations, including Past Deacon of Oakwood Church, Chairman of South Texas Ford Advertising Board, Vice Chairman of New Braunfels City Bond Advisory Committee, Past Chairman of McKenna Foundation, Past President of the Downtown Association, and many more. Studdard has received the Chamber’s Hall of Honor Award (2015), Chair of the Board Award (1998), New Braunfels Jaycees Boss of the Year (1995), and much more.
Michael Meek is the President and CEO of the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, Inc. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation.
He has been with the Chamber since 1988 in various capacities, assuming the CEO position in 1995. He received his BBA in 1975 from Texas A&I University and is a Certified Economic Developer.
The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce has the responsibility for recruitment via professional services agreements with the City of New Braunfels, County, and Economic Development Foundation. The Chamber also manages the affairs of the local Economic Development Foundation. He is a graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management and the Economic Development Institute. The Texas Department of Transportation has named him a “Roadhand”, their most prestigious award.
During Meek’s time in New Braunfels the last 29 years he has been a catalyst for bringing post-secondary education to the community, a major expansion and remodeling of the Civic Center, the founding of the Communities in Schools Organization, bringing 10,000+ new jobs to the community with dozens of primary employers, the Leadership New Braunfels program and a major remodeling of the Chamber offices. The local newspaper named Meek their Citizen of the Year in 2002 for his efforts in creating the Central Texas Technology Center. The Chamber membership has more than doubled in size in his tenure and receives many honors statewide and nationally for its programs.
Maggie began her career as the President of The Chamber (Schertz-Cibolo-Selma Area) of Commerce in June of 2010. The Chamber is a 3-Star Accredited Chamber, given this distinction in March 2018 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Maggie oversees a membership of almost 500 businesses covering 13 cities, 6 counties, and over 110 miles from south San Antonio to Georgetown in Texas. She also coordinates 35 events a year including four major fundraisers and in-house production of their area’s annual business directory.
Maggie received her Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence Advanced Studies Certificate from the University of Oklahoma in 2013 and her IOM distinction in Organization Management in January 2017 from the University of Arizona. She is a founding and current Board Member of the Community Advisory Committee for the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District as well as a committee member of the Friends of Nighthawks for Northeast Lakeview College in Universal City, Texas. Maggie also participates in judging DECA District competitions, CTE advisory committees for the local high schools, and is an honorary commander with the 558th Phantom Knights Squadron on Randolph Air Force Base in Universal City, Texas.
She also is the owner of A Moment In Time Event Coordination, a company that produces personal and corporate events.
Ms. Rhonda Zunker has served as President of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Area Chamber of Commerce for 7 years. Rhonda sent 36 years in banking Prior to joining the Chamber in September of 2013. The last 13 years serving the Bulverde Spring Branch area as the Market Manager of the Broadway Bank – Bulverde Banking Center and was key to their success in the Bulverde area. She is a strong contributor to the Bulverde community and currently serves as a Director on the Bulverde/Spring Branch Economic Development Foundation.
Ms. Zunker has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from WGU. She has lived on the family ranch in the Bulverde area since 2001 and has family ties in the community since the early 1900s. She has one son, Lance, who graduated from Smithson Valley High School.
